"Summit, Mt. Washington, NH"
This photograph was taken early one morning on the summit of Mount Washington; the highest peak in the north-
eastern United States. This is a small, steam-powered locomotive that follows a cog railway, bringing people to the top of the mountain. I liked the strong contrast between the sky and dark foreground. I waited for the conductor to take a sip of his coffee and grabbed this shot, hand-held. Somehow all the elements of my photographic philosophy come together here.
